![]() Xbox has had various showcases, but Hellblade hasn't had a look in aside from vague teases. ![]() Currently confirmed to be one of the new titles in development for the Xbox Series X, the game once again stars Senua on a journey through a hostile world based in the myths and legends of the Norse. It was revealed at The Game Awards in 2019, before returning in 2021 to show off extended gameplay footage. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is an action adventure video game currently in development by Ninja Theory. After Hellblade, the studio was then acquired by Microsoft, and began work on a sequel. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was made by the fairly small studio Ninja Theory, who describe Hellblade as an "indie triple-A", which makes a mockery of the already loose categorisation we have in gaming. This year, while everyone else cares about Zelda and Starfield, all I'm interested in is Hellblade 2. Back in 2020 when we had The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima, my heart belonged to THPS, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Yakuza: Like A Dragon. Last year, when everyone knew God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring would duke it out for GOTY, I had my eye on Legends: Arceus and Ghostwire: Tokyo. For the past few years, the biggest appeal for me has lay in the 'quite big' games over the 'very big' games.
